The second week of June is loud, jam-packed with dynamic aspects.
Monday
Monday got off to a rocky start. When blessed Venus entered Taurus last week, she immediately applied to a square with Pluto, raising themes of power, control, and manipulation in relationships. At the very least, she exhumed some of the skeletons hidden under the floorboards of the psyche, ghosts of the past that haunt present relations. Luckily, Venus cleared the square by 10:20AM PT and began applying to a sextile with Mercury in Cancer.
Raise a toast because Jupiter entered Cancer at 2:02PM PT yesterday. As the Greater Benefic leaves exile in Gemini for exaltation in Cancer, cups overflow. Cornucopias spill over. Big bounties spill across tabletops.
In the domicile of the Moon, generous Jupiter expands networks of care. Cancer’s concerns can be quite narrowly focused, regarding only the most intimate relationships as being worthy of nurturance. However, Jupiter bolsters and broadens definitions of community, asserting that everyone gets fed. Like the Dagda’s bottomless, “un-dry cauldron,” Jupiter in Cancer ensures that no one walks away from his table unsatisfied.
Like a racehorse tripping straight out of the gate, Jupiter’s Cancer does run into an immediate obstacle: Saturn in Aries. The two superior planets lock horns this week, with the aspect perfecting on June 15. Although new boons and blessings can be seen on the horizon, there is a stumbling block along the way. An external constraint exerts pressure on the impulse to provide. On a broad scale, this aspect can be seen in the economic pinch many are feeling under the stagflation of the present economy. On the individual level, it means that new opportunities may be delayed or require Herculean effort.
As one last note to make about Monday, Mercury in Cancer squared Neptune in Aries at 3:54PM, temporarily obscuring communication and stimulating poetic daydreaming.
Tuesday
Tuesday technically does not contain any aspects. However, the Full Moon which peaks overnight will be felt most acutely today. At 12:43AM PT on the 11th, the Moon in Sagittarius opposes the Sun at 20° Gemini. As the luminaries rendezvous, they do so in a square to the Lunar Nodes. As such, the Moon rounds the North Bending while the Sun comes closer to the South Bending. While neither light shall be obscured, this lunation is slightly tinged with eclipse energy. Fortune shall spin her wheel. There is no outright maleficence here, just change as the luminaries bring matters to critical juncture. Topics governed by the mutable whole-sign houses of the chart being brought to a boiling point.
With the lunation falling in Jupiter’s domicile, it also draws an exclamation point around the Greater Benefic’s recent Cancer ingress and its current square to Saturn. The new opportunities you’ve been seeking may seem close at hand, yet just out of reach. At the very least, it ought to be clear which Saturnian restrictions stand between you and greater abundance.
